Harvesting Broccoli From Container Garden

Well we had a nice steamy hot plate of broccoli from our Suburban Garden today. Lil Bro tried it, loved it, and ate a lot of broccoli. It's always fun to see the joy on the kids' faces about gardening. We also picked one of the onions to use in smashed potatoes, but did not get around to cooking the Oregon potatoes tonight. Success from the container garden at the Suburban Garden. Yay!!!!!!

  1. Sweet! We've been eating brocolli for about 2 weeks now ourselves. My wife is a vegetarian and when I put some brocolli from the garden on her plate it's like putting a T-Bone on my plate......it's got to look good, be cooked right, be nice & tender etc.

And the verdict is.......she loves it!

  2. Your veggies look wonderful. I've never grown broccoli, onions or potatoes..yet. I'm trying onions and potatoes for the first time this year and I hope they grow as well as yours.

  3. Why did I spell broccoli with two L's? Twice!

  4. Dennis, With all the plants you had, there should be plenty of broccoli for awhile. I put about 1/4 inch of water in the bottom of a pot, throw the broccoli in, cover and high heat for about 4 minutes. It cooks very fast. And it is a hard word to spell sometimes.

Margaret, Thanks for the compliment! I wish you lots of success in the garden. It's amazing to see the veggies grow with a little TLC. We're looking forward to planting green beans. Have not grown those in a long long time.
