Today's Goodies From the Garden

What started as a quick peek in Our Suburban Garden soon became a pick-fest. We have been enjoying homemade strawberry lemonade this week. The zucchini, lettuce, spinach and kale are making great salad. The green peppers and onion are great in our home fried potatoes. Yum yum. Happy Gardening!!

  3. Homemade strawberry lemonade sounds divine... lucky you. The closest thing we have to a pepper or zucchini is your blog. I can't wait for ours to produce.

If you get a chance take a look at the first entry in my side bar 'video' blog section labeled "Edible Estate Home Forest Garden." It is a most inspiring suburban garden setup.

  4. Margaret, It is so nice to eat meals from our garden. Even snacking on the berries is so cool.

Cynthia, It's worth a try to take 3 strawberries and mash them repeatedly on a plate with a fork. Then push the mash into a measuring cup. Add sugar and some lemon juice. Stir and pour into a pitcher. Fill with water. Yum Yum.

Mr H. Don't worry. I trust you'll have lots of zucchini soon. I checked out the video and it IS pretty amazing what can be done in suburbia. Mrs. Suburban Gardener is not quite on-track with it yet. The EEHFG has some cool trellis's too.

  5. What a beautiful harvest. Noticed you had a tomato that grew by it self. For some reason we have found seven mystey tomatoes in our garden and we are letting them grow. I think last year we had a ton of tomatos that dropped on the gound and made baby plants!!

  7. Hi Chef Phil and Malinda. Thanks for visiting Our Suburban Garden. Yea, there are 2 tomato plants that grew by themselves. The one we moved is now about 7 feet tall and has about 30 green tomatoes. It's awesome. Come back and visit often. :)

PMW, Hi. Remember to use sun block. We all had a great weekend. We have a little lottery on summer weekends to select a fun activity. The winning activity this time was to go bike riding at the beach. We rented a tandem bike. Lots of fun. It's nice to stop and smell the roses. Hope you're having fun too.
